VERMONTING

Katie came to visit! Tacos were in order...

Camel's Hump- a beloved Vermont hike

Instead of an ice cream truck, Burlington has a veggie truck!

My beautiful friend and bride-to-be!

We had such a fun-filled Vermont weekend. One of my best friends came to visit and we ventured to the green mountain state. There we hiked Camel's Hump taking in the spectacular views, went to a cook out at a dear friend's place in Burlington and caught up with people we hadn't seen in a while, showered the bride to be with a tea party, and sampled so many tasty brews at the Vermont Brewers Festival.

NEW ADDITIONS

June 15, 2017

We were feeling so inspired after visiting the local farms for Maine Maple Sunday that we decided to get chickens! Austin and I had been wanting to get chickens for a while and decided to just go for it! Looking forward to being able to walk out to the coop and have fresh eggs for breakfast once these girls start laying.

Picking up the girls!

WOLFE'S NECK

June 14, 2017

Before the heatwave swept over Maine, we were experiencing a bit of a dreary spring. Not letting the damp weather get us down we decided to make the most of it and venture to where the woods meet the sea. Luckily, we didn't have to go far!

To be completely honest I'm kind of in love with moody weather. A soft blanket of fog covered they bay and lingered amongst the trees setting a mystical tone over the coastal forest, poetic in its beauty.

We wandered along the trails breathing in the deep pine scent and stumbled upon the pefect place to enjoy lunch.

There's nothing like a picnic by the sea...

After spending a few hours soaking in all of the nature we decided to make our way back home. But first we made sure to stop by the farm down the road to pet the baby sheep, goats and cows! We're really loving this coastal New England life!!

AUSTIN, TX

May 30, 2017

Earlier this month I dug out my favorite cut offs, packed up my sunscreen, and jetted off to warmer weather. One of my best girlfriends from college is getting married in the fall and we traveled to Austin, Texas to celebrate her bachelorette party! We had a jam-packed weekend and so so much fun!

We kicked the weekend off with some live music, drinks, and tasty food truck eats on Rainey Street. The next day was spent soaking up the rays while sailing with Cap't Tim on Lake Travis.

With the beautiful bride to be at the deuling piano bar! Also trying to recreate an old photo...

Eh, sorta close...

The following day started off by peddling around the city while day drinking. We stopped at a few different bars along the way where we had a rooftop dance party at one and drank beer in a bathtub while watching poeple play life sized beer pong at another. By the way brew biking is way harder than it looks!

After resting up from all of our peddling we went to a lovely dinner at Moonshine Grill that was followed up with a comedy show at Esther Follies. From there things got a bit more bachelorette-y on Sixth street once we stumbled into Coyote Ugly... I'll just leave it at that!

I was in love with all of the funky street art! I think Portland needs to get in on this trend.

The pecan festival was happening that same weekend. It was basically a huge craft fair... not too sure what it had to do with pecans but we wandered through the tents anyway!

Rachel and I were on the hunt for really delicous tacos! We found our way to Veracruz All Natural, an increasingly popular food truck in East Austin. The line was super long and our check in time for our departing flight was creeping up but we stuck it out! They were certainly worth the wait!

It was so great to catch up with my girls and celebrate Megan! I only wish we had more time! Austin is such a vibrant city and I hope to return some day to experience more of its cool vibes!
